The PrestaShop GDPR cookie module provides tools to collect, remember and withdraw visitors’ choices. In France, Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act governs reading and writing trackers on a device. EU Regulation 2016/679, including Articles 4 and 7 on consent, applies when personal data is processed. Merchants must identify their services, check any applicable exemptions and provide information tailored to their shop.
Does Google Consent Mode v2 guarantee GDPR compliance?
No. Google Consent Mode v2 sends technical signals to Google integrations; it does not replace consent collection or checking which trackers actually load. Test acceptance, rejection, partial choices and withdrawal across pages and interactions. Pseudonymous registry receipts still require protection. The module is not legal certification, Google CMP certification or IAB TCF approval.
